New feature!

Main reason we were skipping moderating answers was that when we post a question late, we had no way of letting AutoRaja know when to mod that question. That has changed now! We can now specify exactly when AutoRaja should mod a question and you can see that too! Below a post title, like this

Please post answers before 0000 Hrs on the date notified on a question.

Hello Folks,

We need help to moderate comments and fix bad correction by AutoRaja.

We need help for a lot of other things, but this is where we are going to start.

If you are willing to become a moderator, please leave a comment below and we will get in touch with you over email.

Your role (to start with) will be:

• You will get an email if someone blames AutoRaja for bad correction
• You can go and give points if you see the answer is right
• Obviously, you cannot correct your own answer.

Update: Thanks for the overwhelming response! We will be reaching out to you via email soon! The plan is to build the infrastructure in a way that it will split the task among multiple “Community Moderators”. That way, you will get an email about wrong correction only once in a while. Everybody wins! :)

We got some great positive feedback for our new “Blame AutoRaja” feature, so, we have added more enhancements to it!

Changes in this release

1. No need to be **logged in. **You can now Blame AutoRaja for his bad correction on anybody’s answer!
2. You earn a cookie each time you place a blame on AutoRaja. Good deeds should not go unrewarded, you see. You need to logged in to earn cookies.
3. Cookies you earn will be displayed on your profile page and on each of your comments, just like medals (red arrow)
4. You can now see a green check mark on all answers AutoRaja has marked correct and red cross on every answer marked wrong.
5. You can only see “Balme AutoRaja” link only on answers marked wrong.

Long long ago, so long ago, no one can say how long ago, we had promised that we would manually check every answer modded by AutoRaja to spot errors. Unfortunately, manually checking every answer is insanely hard.

So, we request you to help us find modding errors by reporting it to us.

We have made it super simple for you to report errors. When you are logged in, you will see a “Blame AutoRaja” link on any answer you have posted. If you click on that, we will get a notification and we will manually review the answer and assign points if it has not been done.

If you are not logged in or if you do not have a registered user name, you can do it the old fashion way and send us a note at [email protected]

Whew! We are back on schedule! Finally! Those darn Gremlins are very hard to beat. Good news is, the battle is won. But, the war is still on. So, we request you to do the following

1. Not only did we post a lot of questions, but we also modded a whole bunch of pending ones. So, please **check your scores and **run-lengths. If we have missed giving you points, or if you have missed posting an answer because there were way too many open questions and you forgot to post etc, we will work with you to fix it. 2. Please let us know if we have no modded a question posted before Feb 1.
3. Please send us guest questions. We love them!

Hello folks,

This is not a question - it’s an apology for not posting for the last few days. I’ve been swamped with work, and Devadutta’s going through some big life changes at the moment :)

We’ll get right back to posting starting tomorrow, and I’ll be posting multiple questions per day to make sure we catch up.

It’s been great having you all along all the way through 2011. We had a blast posting questions as always (and got blasted juggling our lives with Boiledbeans) and every bit of it has been fun. We hope you enjoyed it too!

Considering that us humans love celebrating arbitrary milestones, we know that you’re probably going to spend some time celebrating and might not be around a computer. So we’re leaving the questions open to be answered a bit longer. All questions remain open till Dec Jan 3rd! We’ll get back to normal schedule starting on 3rd.

Our web-host company is still slugging along on a recovery, so we worked around them and restored files using another method. We are considering changing webhost because of this ridiculous incident.

Anyway, we will keep all questions open until December 3rd. We are switching on AutoRaja on 3rd night PST. Please post all your answers by then.

Hello People,

Our back-end seems to have some issues and images/audio clips are not loading. We are working on getting it fixed.

Update: Our web hosting provider has gone kaput. All questions will be kept open until 30th November. We need to run our recovery scripts after the hosting company’s recovery scripts are done.

Update 2: Turns out we are running on one of the worst web hosts ever. They need 5 days to do a restore! And they are yet to restore our backups. We will be doing a hard restore tonight. When Murphy decides to make your day bad, he will make it bad for sure. All questions will be open until further notice.

Dear People,

AutoRaja will be back on his normal schedule starting Nov 28th. This means that questions posted before 25th will be closed that day and new questions will be kept open for 3 days.

The current arrangement of “random modding when we get time” is not working. At all.

Please post answers on questions you need to by Nov 28th.
