Lets face it. We don’t have access to high bandwidth internet all the time. Sometimes we are on the phone, sometimes in an airport or sometimes the tubes are just clogged and loading webpages can take awfully long. Even super lite designs like Boiledbeans can also take a long time to load.

Like some of you noticed over the weekend, we have started rolling out a new awards system.

You will now be assigned various medals/trophies based on your achievements on Boiledbeans!

Here are some of the medals that are already impemented

Respectively for the top 3 scorers of each month. These medals are applied retroactively, so even if you topped the monthly chart some 20 months ago, you will still see a medal!

Trophies that are coming soon..

• GQ Hero – From now on, if a question you send gets published, you will get a trophy. Unfortunately, we cannot apply this retroactively
• FIRST!!! – Answer a question first, get a trophy. Will be applied retroactively
• mod 20 – A trophy for every 20 points you score on BB. Will be applied retroactively

and finally the big one for “all time top scorer” and “all time best run length” and…

“Current month’s top scorer”. Yep, this is rolling trophy. Relatively easy to get, hard to keep :)

These will be visible in detail on your profile pages and a summary of your medals/trophies will be displayed below each of your comment. A nice way to show it off!

Congratulations are in order to Dibyo who recently reached (and crossed) the 500 point mark! Great work Mr D!

To mark and celebrate this, we contacted him for a question and he replied. However, he’s not sent one question, he’s sent nine. Yes, nine! And they’re not just “direct” questions, they are of a special format.

Dibyo’s 500 point quiz is a Stage-3 format quiz!

Format:
So, the format of this quiz: there are a total of nine questions. The answers to the first three questions are connected to each other (say C-1). The answers to the next three are connected (say C-2) and the final three are connected (say C-3). Further, C-1, C-2, and C-3 are connected, and this connect is the so-called “stage-3”.

Rules, points:
We will be posting three questions per day (all 3 questions in one post). So on each day, you can potentially win 4 points (1 for each answer + 1 point for the connect of the day). If you can get the stage-3 answer on day 1, you get 3 points. If you can get it on day 2 you get 2 points, and a single point for getting it on day 3. No negative marks for wrong guesses. One guess every day max. Please post your stage-3 guesses and as SEPARATE comments from your daily answers!

You can now view all your Boiledbeans stats in one place with the new bbprofiles feature. I had some extra hours this weekend, so churned out this long pending feature.

The profile page right now contains stats and runlengths, but we request you to update the following on your profile, so that we can add them to the profile page too.

1. Photo – Some of you have uploaded a pic, but those who have not, please do it
2. About yourself
3. Your blog – We are planning to roll out another feature, which will need this. So please update your blog links

bbprofiles has a newly introduced “Ranks” as a stat. So, do check it out
