The original book - a textbook of magic - was said to be written by a ‘half-crazed arab’, as the author put it. It soon gained widespread circulation across the world as a store of occult information, but was suppressed by later regimes.

The book recently resurfaced, although most sane people deny that it has anything to do with the original. Identify the book.
