oh, the new clue:
"I will take the liberty of choosing for you"
(rather than give you the illusion of free choice)
one of gman's quotes

good one.

hmm, a bit different.. but nice...
(dont want to lose my run length...)

anyway, Narbacular Drop (the first pic) by Digipen students: It is about a princess who is imprisoned and has to escape by creating portals on walls and phasing through them. dont bother playing it. very buggy.

Portal is the new game by the same team, hired by Valve. It is part of their orange box. The image is a pictoral gameplay tutorial, presented in the game...
Play portal, or you will burn in hell...

Half Life 2 - the second visual roughly corresponds to the storyline of the game, going through canals and all. And the title clue is a G-man quote from the game.

1) Narbacular drop
2) Portal - by valve

Portal is Valve's professionally-developed spiritual successor to the freeware game Narbacular Drop, which consists of using an innovative system of shooting portals to make your way through the levels.

All of narbacular drop's staff now work at valve

1. Narbacular Drop is an environmental puzzle video game developed by Nuclear Monkey Software. The gameplay consists of navigating a dungeon using an innovative portal system.

2.Portal is a single-player first-person action/puzzle video game developed by Valve. The game consists primarily of a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and other simple objects using the "portal gun", a unit that can create an inter-spatial portal between flat planes.

Portal is Valve's professionally-developed spiritual successor to the freeware game Narbacular Drop, the 2005 independent game released by students of the DigiPen Institute of Technology; the original Narbacular Drop team are now all employed at Valve

Valve's new game "Portal", as a part of the Orange Box release, which is a logic game based on new "portal physics" rather than simple gunplay.

The first picture is Narbacular Drop, which is a free game developed by students from DigiPen institute. The original team that made it, are now all employed with valve.

To quote the great wiki:
Portal is Valve's professionally-developed spiritual successor to the freeware game Narbacular Drop.

Pertinently, my friend's got the orange box on his computer.. and I'm going over to play it morrow. Yum! :)
