The Cauzin Softstrip – an early commercial 2D barcode system. These strips encode entire computer programs – you see 3 examples of software distributed as softstrips!

Datastrip code pages for loading programs from paper media.
I never got a chance to use one and always just had to type the programs from the magazine. Debugging some of the compressed programs was a real PITA when there was a typo or you messed up a character, somewhere. I’ll never forget my amazement the first time one of those extracted itself and grew many times the size of what I’d entered.

Cauzin Softstrip was the first commercial 2D barcode format.

First two were released by Family Computing for Apple and the third one was of Big Brother :P
