Fobos-Grunt is a sample return mission to Phobos, one of the moons of Mars.

Launched on 8 November 2011, it is in low Earth orbit awaiting resolution of a technical difficulty that has prevented it from leaving Earth orbit.

Phobos-Grunt probe (alt spelling: Fobos-Grunt) that’s meant to go to Phobos, a moon of Mars, for soil samples but … is having trouble leaving earth’s orbit.

I guess this is the Mars orbiter which was lost by nasa due to usage of different units (english, metric) by different engineering teams.
