A rather famous company was about to be named X (after the famous people in the pic below), but was named Y instead, because X sounded ‘wrong’ in its field. X? Y?

    Intel was originally going to be called, “Moore Noyce”, but the name was already trademarked by a hotel chain.
    What are the odds?

    X = Moore Noyce

    Y = Intel

    Copy pasta from wiki …

    Moore and Noyce initially wanted to name the company “Moore Noyce”. The name, however, was a homophone for “more noise” – an ill-suited name for an electronics company, since noise in electronics is usually very undesirable and typically associated with bad interference. Instead they used the name NM Electronics for almost a year, before deciding to call their company Integrated Electronics or “Intel” for short.
