First, congrats to jowens for reaching a runlength of 100! You won yourself a Star of Honor ,  sire!

Fully framed guest question from udupendra. Thanks saar!

What is being compared here?

P.S: We have a lot of unpublished guest questions waiting in our inbox. We are going to do a GQ Run soon. If you have sent us a question(s), this is to let you know that we have not forgotten about it(them)! :)

    What is Toronto?, Alex.

It’s a comparative analysis of the difference between how IBM’s Watson and Wolfram|Alpha operate in the natural language sphere.

  10. The difference in the way how IBM’s Watson (left) computes a question to ‘Jeopardy’ as compared to how the human brain (right) computes it? I am guessing the over used term ‘Welcome to the computer overlords’ is a reference to that.

Stephen Wolfram comparing IBM Watson to his Wolfram alpha. For all its claims, I can never get alpha to “compute” anything for me (except integrals and such that Mathematica does so well). For instance, I searched for “who is the current NFL champion?” and “who is the leading run scorer in test cricket?”. No responses to either.
