Happy New Year folks!

We wish you a very bright and awesome 2011! 2010 was a lot of fun for us and hope you had fun too.

We had planned a lot of special events for 2010, but we were never able to get those things up to release quality. So, to change things for 2011, lets start the new year with a small treasure hunt!

Decipher the message below to get started with the hunt!

  1. The first person to solve the puzzle will get 5 points and a surprise award!
  2. The puzzle will be kept open for 2 days after the first person solves it
  3. Anyone else who solves the puzzle(while its open) gets 3 points
  4. Your runlength will NOT be affected if you do not answer this puzzle.

IMPORTANT: When you reach the treasure (end of the puzzle), follow instructions which you can find there.

So get cracking!

Ramanujan -> 1729 in roman. MDCCXXIX

    mod(2011,1000) = 11.

    fibonacci(11) = 89.

    Phew. Reached the end.
quadratic equation had a solution of 3.
string rotated by 3 gave another string which was a bit.ly url, as indicated by the pufferfish [ bit.ly’s equivalent of failwhale]

*sniff* finally ended it. I really need to watch something smarter than Entourage!

The answer is line 6 of the source code of the main page of boiledbeans.net. apple-touch-icon.

The second hint asks to look for owl in the source code. Leads to js file with Ramanujam number in roman numerals which plainly asks to look something at line 6. The code for fibonacci appears to be dummy.

89 being the 11th Fibbonacci number.

    What next?
