    A recently discovered fossil of a giant whale has been named after Herman Melville (Leviathan Melvillei) who created the most famous fictional whale, Moby Dick.

    Recently,it was announced that a new species of extinct giant sperm whale, Leviathan melvillei was named in honor of Herman Melville. The paleontologists who discovered the fossil are all fans of Moby-Dick and wanted to dedicate their discovery to Melville.
