Who’s epitaph?
Pseudo-bonus points for pointing out the well-known screwup in this.
Cracked by everyone!
Answer:
Jakob Bernoulli, of the Bernoulli Spiral fame. Sadly enough they ended up putting an Archimedean spiral on his epitaph.

Jakob Bernoulli and the logarithmic spiral. He was fascinated by the curve’s special property that zooming into it is equivalent to rotating the curve. He wanted the spiral to be inscribed in his epitaph but by mistake an Archimedean spiral which doesn’t share its logarithmic counterpart’s self-similarity was placed instead.

Jacob Bernoulli’s tomb. The mistake is that the spiral at the bottom isn’t a logarithmic spiral.

The error is that the stone mason put a simple arithmetic (Archimedean) spiral on the marker instead of a marvelous (logarithmic) spiral.

JAcob Bernoulli’s gravestone.
Bernoulli chose a figure of a logarithmic spiral and the motto Eadem mutata resurgo (“Changed and yet the same, I rise again”) for his gravestone; the spiral executed by the stonemasons was, however, an Archimedean spiral. [1] “[Jacques Bernoulli] wrote that the logarithmic spiral ‘may be used as a symbol, either of fortitude and constancy in adversity, or of the human body, which after all its changes, even after death, will be restored to its exact and perfect self’.”

Epitaph of “Jacob Bernoulli” – a prominent mathematician. Considered the first person to develop the technique for solving separable differential equations.
The screw-up was : Bernoulli chose a figure of a logarithmic spiral and the motto Eadem mutata resurgo (“Changed and yet the same, I rise again”) for his gravestone;
the spiral executed by the stonemasons was, however, an Archimedean spiral.

Epitaph of Jacob Bernoulli.
The spiral at the bottom is an Archimedian spiral rather than a logarithmic spiral as Bernoulli would’ve liked.
