Erdős–Bacon number – being the sum of one’s Erdős number(the “collaborative distance” in authoring mathematical papers between that person and Paul Erdős) and one’s Bacon number (the number of links, through roles in films, by which the individual is separated from Kevin Bacon). Erdos and Bacon being the known centres of the mathematical and entertainment worlds.
Daniel Kleitman and Hank Aaron each have a Erdos-Bacon number of 3.
Mike Hirschhorn, Dave Bayer come in next with an Erdos-Bacon number of 4.
Paul Erdos himself can only manage a 4 (though if unoffical credits are considered, he also has a combined number of 3).
Danica Mckellar and Natalie Portman both have Erdos-Bacon numbers of 6 and amongst the highest amongst the actors.
