  1. Raghuvansh Says:

Title is a dead giveaway. pH.

  2. Chinmaya U.Holla Says:

    Acidity.

  3. Aditya Says:

    Acidity of the soil

    Aditya

  4. udupendra Says:

Soil pH. That’s the mophead flower (Hydrangea)

    udupendra

  5. eli Says:

    Hydrangea Flower .
flower colour shows the pH of soil
    acidic soils produce blue flowers
neutral soils produce very pale cream petals
and alkaline soils results in pink or purple

  6. Kaushik Says:

    Hydrangeas

In these species the exact colour often mirrors the pH of the soil; acidic soils produce blue flowers, neutral soils produce very pale cream petals, and alkaline soils results in pink or purple. This is the caused by a color change of the flower pigments in the presence of aluminium ions which can be taken up into hyperaccumulating plants

  7. Rogi Says:

The level of acidity AND the presence of aluminum.

  8. shenoyvarun86 Says:

The ph value :) nice clue, I like !

    shenoyvarun86

  9. varuns88 Says:

Hydrangeas, the color indicates the pH of the soil.

    varuns88

  10. krudebox Says:

Hydrangeas. The pH value of the soil causes the color change. More specifically,
more Aluminum content in the soil = less pH value –> blue color.

  11. rr Says:

    it is the *mod-edit* detctor

  12. shrik Says:

The Hydrangea flower acts as litmus paper and indicates soil pH levels: acidic soils produce blue flowers, neutral soils produce very pale cream petals, and alkaline soils results in pink or purple.

    litmus??

  15. akhi Says:

    Simple one.

    Hydrangea, soil pH

    akhi

  16. Andre Says:

It is affected by the soil’s pH

  17. sidsen Says:

  18. Siddarth Pai Says:

The acidity or alkalinity of the soil
    like litmus paper
    the pH level

  19. Shrey Goyal Says:

Hydrangea macrophylla blossoms are either pink or blue, depending on a pH-dependent mobilization and uptake of soil aluminium into the plants.

  20. PrK Says:

    Hydrangea macrophylla
Flower color, which is variable depending on soil pH, will be pink in alkaline soil, with acidic conditions turning the flowers blue.

  21. madhur Says:

Color of Hydrangea varies with the pH of the soil.
Acidic soils produce blue flowers, neutral soils produce very pale cream petals, and alkaline soils results in pink or purple.

The colours are known as Nikko Blue, and Forever pink.
    the flower is hydrangea.

  24. Jean Valjean Says:

Hydrangeas change color based on acidity of the soil.

  25. GhoSTWhoWALKS Says:

    Hydrangea….

  26. Sridhar C Says:

The color indicates the pH of the soil

  27. Dibyo Says:

hydrangeas, litmus paper of the soil

    Dibyo

  28. Ps Says:

Changing a hydrangea from pink to blue entails adding aluminum to the soil. Changing from blue to pink means subtracting aluminum from the soil or taking it out of reach of the hydrangea.

  29. Ps Says:
