The @ symbol
Historian Jorge Romance located the appearance of the Arroba (@) symbol at the “taula de Ariza” registry from 1448 (Pic 1), to denote a wheat shipment from Castile to the Kingdom of Aragon. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arroba)
BBN’s Ray Tomlinson (Pic 2) is acknowledged for having introduced the @ symbol in the usages we see today.
