Cracked with the expected answer by Udupendra and Logik.

An unexpected connect by prasadbhat! Awesome stuff :-). Sorry, jumped the gun here. Thanks for pointing it out Rogi.

Answer:

Edwin Aldrin, Mike Collins and Neil Armstrong (1) were presented a special Hugo award (named after Hugo Gernsback-2) for “Best moon landing ever” :-)

Prasadbhat points out that Gernsback was the first to describe a lunar rover, and these three actually rode around in one on the moon, so points for that, too!

Haha – the Apollo 11 crew got a Hugo Award in 1969 for the Best Moon Landing Ever.

Since I cannot connect the Apollo 11 landing zone with the Hugo Gernsback Moon crater, I’ll settle for the connection being that Gernsback envisioned mining the Moon and the Apollo 11 mission did it.

gernsback described the lunar rover in one of his science fiction novel. the three astronauts used a real one during their historic landing on the moon

FYI there was no rover on the Apollo 11 mission. Only on the last 3 missions.
