Answer:

Marilyn Monroe (1) was discovered by a photographer who took a pic of her while she was working on assembling components at a Van Nuys Radioplane (2) factory.

Borderline non-geeky but it had Monroe and it had planes! And radio planes that too!

  1. Dibyo Says:

It was at the Van Nuys Radioplane factory that in 1944 that Army photographer David Conover saw a young lady named Norma Jeane, and thought she had potential as a model. This “discovery” led to fame for Jeane, who soon changed her name to Marilyn Monroe.

Exhibit 1 is a Marilyn Monroe, and Exhibit 2 is a Radioplane.

    “*click*”?
Would that be the click of the closing fastener on a parachute she was inspecting or the click of the glue spraying gun Marilyn Monroe used to assemble fuselages for radio controlled drones at the Radio Plane Company in Burbank?

  6. foobar Says:

Marilyn Monroe worked for Northrop Grumman before she was discovered. But.. why will such a question be posed on a geek quiz? I think I got the wrong answer.
