    1) Victorola

Hint :- The Victor Talking Machine Company’s dog with the famous dog Nipper of His Master Voice

The founders of Motorola (Gavin Brothers) initially planned to make car radios and hence the name was coined as Motorola was a portmanteau of “Victorola” and “Motor”

    Motorola

The picture is that of a Victrola, which was a line of phonographs with the turntable and amplifying horn tucked away inside a wooden cabinet. It was made by Victor Talking Machine Company, whose logo is the other picture.

Motorola founders Paul Galvin and Joseph Galvin came up with the name Motorola when the company started manufacturing car radios in 1930. The name is a combination of Motor and Victrola.

The first picture shows a Victrola made by the Victor Talking Machine company.

  28. Rahulk Says:

Hey the Anonymous guy in the top of the answer is me… I tried to give the answer from a cyber cafe but it seems to refuse to take my name …. I have to come to my workstation the next day to give the answer…

  29. devadutta Says:

    @Rahulk: We trust you :)
Post the correct answer with “Rahulk” now and we will give you your point.

    devadutta

  30. Dibyo Says:

Wouldn’t JVC also fit the description?
Victrola -> Victor -> Japan Victor Co. -> JVC

It’s also electronic co. so it fits all clues.

    Dibyo

  31. devadutta Says:

@Dibyo: 1 is a “Victrola” manufactured by Victor. 1 does not directly lead you to the “Victor” company.
    Thus JVC is not correct.

  32. Rahulk Says:

@Devdutta : I did it already and done it legally … Its just that I have directed your attention that your site refused to recognize me in a cyber cafe (even I provided it the name)… But it recognized me when I did it from my workstation… Robots refusing the three laws of robots… Perhaps I should change my name to Paranoid Rahulk….

  33. devadutta Says:

@Rahulk: We don’s have any code on BB which differentiates between a cyber cafe and workstation. I suspect that the cyber cafe’s internet connection had issues which might have resulted in incomplete session setup.

If you face the same problem again, do let us know and we will see what we can do about it.

Thanks anyways. And of course, paranoia is good :)

  34. Rahulk Says:

    @ Devdutta

I know there was some probs with the cafe\’s IC …. I was just joking … But somehow my joke got drowned amidst all this talks…

Anyways I know you wont include any backend to differentiate between my workstation and the cafe…

But one thing for sure…. BB rules… Absolutely… I fervently wait for your questions everyday… I was a late vistor to your website… Has been visiting it since June… Till October I was not able to crack even a single question while going through your archives…. But once I answered one question , I somehow manage to answer a lot more since then… Seriously good work put up by you guys… Kudos to you….

  35. devadutta Says:

@Rahulk: I guessed it was a joke, but real paranoia made me play safe :)

Thanks for your positive feedback on BB. We are glad that you like the site!

If you had started answering in August, you could have won yourself a t-shirt!

    Keep visiting :)
