The duo are Vincent Rijmen and Joan Daemen. They won the AES competition. Their cipher Rijndael is now the AES Standard.

1. Ronald Rivest (RSA fame)
2. Twofish Cipher
3. Serpent Cipher

Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen, developers of the Rijndael cipher.They won the AES competition,as a result of which,Rijndael is now the encryption standard adopted by the US government.

1.Ron Rivest’s RC6 , 2.Twofish cipher and 3.Serpent cipher were the other finalists.

Their algorithm – Rijndael – won the right to be called AES, defeating RC6 by Rivest, Twofish, and Serpent.

The guys are Rijnmen and Daemen (or something like that)

Rijndael won the competition by the US dept. of whatever to become the algo for the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).
