    Jerry Yang and David Filo, co-founders of Yahoo Inc, became addicted to Sumo Wrestling when they were graduate exchange students together in Kyoto in 1992 while at Stanford.

    Jerry Yang and David Filo named their first servers after great sumo wrestlers Akebono and Konishiki respectively.

    Yahoo’s services were first deployed on servers/machines which were named after the famous Hawaiian sumo wrestlers.
