Answer:
1. The tower of Babel as painted by Pieter Brueghel
2. Still from HHG2G, the movie. Towel! he had a towel in his hand!! I don’t think there are too many movies made which have the lead role holding a towel in his hand :)
3. Yahoo!. No one could identify this ;)
The connect: Babel Fish
HHG2G has a fictional translation “device”/”fish” which is named “Babel fish” after 1.
AltaVista started a translation service called “Babel Fish”, which was a reference to the fish in 2.
3 is the current provider of “Babel Fish” translation service after it transitively bought out AltaVista.

The connect is Babel.
1 is the Tower of Babel.
2 looks familiar.Could be a still from Crash whose storyline is similar to Alejendro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Amores Perros.Inarritu also directed Babel. And in the entry for Crash Wikipedia says “Crash is often compared with Babel, for both movies show the lives of different individuals and shows how their lives intertwine and both movies deal with major issues in today’s society”.
3 is of course Yahoo. Its Yahoo! Babel Fish provides free online text and web page language translation tools (By sheer coincidence, last night I was re-reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with the Babel fish in Arthur Dent’s ear acting as a translator)
I am not sure about 2, keeping fingers crossed. But good question anyway.

The connection is : Babelfish.( Going by the hint : “You cant eat this kind..”)
1) The Tower of Babel, painting by Peter Brueghel the Elder. The word Babel is derived from Bible, and refers to the Biblical city, hence the mythical Tower
2) Scene from the film “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”(2005) starring Mos Def ( as Ford Perfect) and Martin Freeman ( Arthur Dent), in the book H2G2 there is a reference of Babelfish-the fictional animal used for instanteneous language translations. Douglas Adams sought his inspiration from Babel- where multiple languages originated.
3) Babel Fish is the web-based language translation application developed by Alta Vista ( now part of Yahoo!)
