The character of Dr Strangelove is based on idiosyncracies and ideological characteristics of Teller and Von Braun.     apart from the fact that dr. strangelove was at least partly based on these two – i.e. werner von braun and edward teller; the staunch advocacy of the deterrent theory (manifested by sdi) by both von braun and teller is also in line with strangelove’s doomsday machine principle.
