The connect I was looking for was Numbers Stations. As many of you identified, the three numbers were VoIP numbers that, when called, read out a series of numbers to the caller. This prank, called Project Evil, was perpetrated via CraigsList by a group of hackers to find out the strength of the online crypto community. (Numbers Stations, as the wikipedia article will tell you, were used by various spooks during the cold war to transmit encoded information to their headquarters. )
What many of you didn’t identify was that one of the various subplots of LOST involved a radio beacon transmitting some numbers over and over again, effectively a numbers station being used to call for help.
Another possible connect that most of you suspected was that internet-people suspected that the VoIP numbers stations were part of some viral marketing campaign for LOST. But the project evil hackers claim this to be entirely false, and I am inclined to agree with them.

Those are the three telephone numbers that appeared in ads on craigslist addressed to Mein Fraulein. Calling those numbers would give you number blocks that cryptanalysts would spend sleepless nights attempting to crack – a significant bunch of whom believe that it's got something to do with the upcoming season of Lost.
Your 'clue' is far more easily decipherable though. Interesting paradox though, you are giving a clue by saying there is no clue.

1) are series of numbers, streamed in 3 parts, featured in 3 instalments of personal ads which appeared on Internet classified ad sites called Craigslist- however,instead of being on shortwave radio, appeared through ordinary telephone lines.
2) The nos 4,8,15,16,23 and 42 were transmitted from a number station on the island in TV series LOST.

That was the first in series of cryptic messages that were posted on craiglist. But no one seems to have cracked it yet.
People do speculate that it might be a clue in the tv series "LOST Experience Game" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Experience
but there are a good number of people that do oppose that theory…
