Amazon’s mechanical turk service.
(1) is Jeff Bezos, the patent-happy CEO of Amazon

The first pic is that of Jeff Bezos …Has the connect got anythng to do with Space travel ???

  2. udupendra Says:

    Mechanical Turk connects.

Jeff Bezos, of Amazon in picture 1 - http://www.mturk.com is his new venture - rides on the credo of Artificial Artificial Intelligence

Picture 2 shows the original historical Mechanical Turk - the chess playing 'automaton' which basically had a human sitting inside and making the moves. Thus, Artificial Artificial Intelligence.

Yes, I love that phrase. Artificial Artificial Intelligence.

  3. Sharath Says:

    The connection is the Turk/Mturk
Pic 1: Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com launching the Amazon web services one of which is MTurk (Mechanical Turk) named after 'The Turk' (pic 2) .
Pic 2: "The Turk" was a chess-playing automaton of the 18th century which was made by Wolfgang von Kempelen.

  4. Praveen Says:

Jeff Bezos and the Turk(supposed to be a automated chess playingmachine but was a hoax).
the amazon mechanical turk is inspired by the turk.

  5. bs Says:

Can't seem to recognize the first guy, though he looks familiar. But the second is a picture of the Turk, which was supposedly a chess playing automaton, but actually had a human inside operating levers to make the moves.
