Archana finds a different connect. Cool! :)
Answer
Connect: Game theory
Details:
1. Sylvia Nasar who wrote the novel “A Beautiful Mind” and a poster of the movie with the same title, connecting to John Nash.
2. Oskar Morgenstern and John von Neumann
Oskar Morgenstern and John von Neumann founded the field of mathemetical Game theory. John Nash did extensive work on game theory.
The extra hint was Donald Rumsfeld who claims to be using game theory for his defense strategies.

The first is Sylvia Nasar, who wrote the book “A Beautiful Mind” on John Nash Jr and his popular Game Theory. The second picture is that of a poster of the movie of the book.
The second is that of Oskar Morgenstern and John von Neumann. They together wrote Theory of Games and Economic Behavior in 1944.
The bonus hint is a picture of Donald Rumsfeld, famous, among many other things, for his view on the foundations of the game theory as
“Reports that say that something hasn’t happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns.”
Phew! Killer question!

I hope I am atleast close….
1.Sylvia Nasar.
2.Movie beautiful mind.
3.Oskar Morgenstern.
4.Von Neumann.
5.H.W. Bush
I think game theory is the interlink between all of the personalities.
Von Neumann with Oskar Morgenstern correlated the principles of games to economy several years ago by coming up with game theory. In the 50s John Forbes Nash came up with the “Nash equilibrium” by delving more into game theory. Although he was an execcentric personality, he won Nobel prize for his findings. Sylvia Nasar wrote a book on John Nash and his work on game theory named , “A beautiful mind”. This book was later epitomized through the movie “Beautiful mind”, with the role of Nash played by superstar Russel Crowe.

pic 1a : Sylvia Nasar
pic 1b : Russell Crowe (actor: Beautiful mind)
Connection : Sylvia Nasar is the author of ‘the beautiful mind’, a biography of John Nash…
Pic 2a : Oskar Morgnstern
Pic 2b : John von Neumann
Connection : published “Theory of Games and Economic Behavior” together…
pic 3 : Donald Rumsfeld (Current chairman of RAND)
Connection : The 41-year old Von Neumann had invented hierarchical computer architecture in 1944; the 26-year old Nash described parallel processing ten years later.
Also, John Nash, Von Neumann, Donald Ramsfeld are notable participants of RAND.

In the movie ‘Beautiful Mind’ Russell Crowe plays the role of a mathematician.
The picture on the stamp is John Van Neumann who is a famous American Mathematician.
A Wild Guess : concept ‘Mathematicians’

Game Theory.
1. Both pics connect to John Nash; Sylvia Nasar wrote a book ‘A Beautiful Mind’ based on his life, and it was made into a movie whose poster you see in the second pic.
2. On the left is Oskar Morganstern, and on the right is John von Neumann, the orignal proponents of Game Theory.
Donald Rumsfeld famously claimed to be using game theory principles to decide on Iraq strategy. May be he should try some common sense, instead.

The concept is Cryptography .

shall beat around the bush …:)
basically …. (classic way to start an ambiguous answer)
1 . sylvia nasar … wrote biography of John Nash
poster of movie The Beautiful Mind … the name of
the biography by sylvia nasar …
2. dunno the first guy … but the second one is John Von Neumann in the stamp …
Hint : Donald Rumsfeld .. defense secretary …
Possible connect : possibly Game Theory … both John Nash n Neumann were pioneers of it in Princeton Univ …. univ where Rumsfeld teches part time …

Game theory is the concept.
The field of game theory came into being with the 1944 classic Theory of Games and Economic Behavior by John von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern. (2nd row)
John Nash, a nobel prize winning game theorist, generalized the above mentioned theory and John Nash, was the subject of the 1998 biography by Sylvia Nasar and the 2001 film A Beautiful Mind.

1.John Nash/Game Theory
Clue: Donald Rumsfeld
Both from same University

Game Theory
1. Sylvia Nasar wrote A Beautiful Mind about John Forbes Nash and Nash came up with Nash equillibrium.
2. Oskar Morgenstern and von Neumann came up with the Neumann-Morgenstern utility.
Bonus: Donald Rumsfeld, the foremost game theorist of our times.

The connect is Game Theory?

The theory which relates these pictures is The Theory of Games.
1) shows Sylvia Naser, who wrote the book A Beautiful Mind, where the economist John Nash is portrayed by Russell Crowe. Nash did extensive research on the application of Game Theory in Economics and a particular solution is named after him as Nash Equilibrium.
2) The mathematicians Oskar Morgenstern and John von Neumann, who proposed the Game Theory for the first time.

Game Theory, broadly…
Sylvia Naser/A Beautiful Mind - John Nash, Oscar Morgenstern, Jon Von Nuemann - Game Theory

1 Sylvia nasar the lady who wrote the biography of John Nash in 1998
1a> Russel crowe as John nash in the movie “A beautiful mind”
2>Oskar Morgenstern and Jon von neumann
who gave the “Theory of Games and Economic Behavior ” in 1944
Donald rumsfield the then US secretary of state who used the the game theory in the so called “war against terror”
And the connect is “Game theory”

1. Sylvia Nasar & poster for the movie A Beautiful Mind
2. ( Donald Knuth? ) & John Von Neumann
3. Donald Rumsfeld
The connect is “Game Theory”
A Beautiful Mind is based on John Nash, who contributed a lot towards Game Theory.
Neumann basically invented Game Theory.

Its got to do with Game theory and Nash equilibrium.
It was a good movie :-)
